Now the question arises that What is IATA? IATA stands for International Air Transport Association is an organization of international airlines based on Montréal, Canada. 82% of the world's air companies are included in this association. The primary aims of IATA are to safeguard safe, to regular and to economize transport for the benefit of people all over the world.

In a simple way it regulates air ticketing and all air transportations. It makes rules and regulations like from where the flight will fly it's navigations, it's routes, safety measures, food given while inside the flight, the things which will be free or charged inside flight all these rules are made by IATA.

How to get in IATA?



You have to choose a seperate course. For that course get yourself refister on IATA website. Link below-

For completion of that course you can go through different Institutes or get yourself done by Self Studty progrram by IATA. IATA says that their all courses can be self studied.

Fee criteria by IATA Self Study program:- 33,000 INR (approx).
Fee criteria by different Institutes:- 70,000 to 80,000 INR.


Process to register for a course in IATA:-

1. Visit IATA Website- https://www.iata.org/ 

2. Select a particular course. In India best course is Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

3. Select your Diploma with Amadeus or Galileo(Travel Port) or Sabre.

4. Check Fee Structure, Divided in two parts Developed Nations and Developing Nations. If from India select Developing Nations.

5. Create log in on IATA site you will receive a verification E-mail and get verified.

6. Fill your admission form Online.
( If ask for Enrollment Key leave it and do it further too.)

7. Again you will get a verification E-mail.

8. Two options given E-book or Printed Book.

9. Choose E-book if not want to give delievery charges(aprrox 2.5 K).

10. After selecting E-books you will get books Pdf by IATA in E-mail in 24 or 48 Hours.

11. Study Books get well prepared and then choose Exam Date.


How Exam is Conducted:-

1. IATA gives you 2 attempts for Exams.

2. Choose your Exam Date once you log in in a Particular Course. IATA conducts exams 4 to 6 times a Year(In India). In a particular month select your Exam Date.

3. Do payment for exam by Credit Card or visit your Bank for a Transfer.

4. You will get a Confirmation receipt E-mail by IATA in which your Enrollment number will be given.

5. After confirmation receipt you will get Air India office address visit there and your Exam will be conducted online there.

6. You can also change your Examination Dates.

After clearance of IATA exam get IATA certified in your Particular Course.


GDS(Global Distribution System):-



GDS is an online system known as global distribution system, which has been bridging the gap worldwide between tour operators and travel bookers by providing centralized services by covering the bookings of airlines tickets, car rental, hotel rooms and more.

Salary Structure of IATA:-



A qualified IATA professional has tremendous employment opportunities at entry-level and front level operations of airlines and travel agencies. They can get easy employment as ground handling staff, travel agency officer, airline city office representative, reservation and ticketing officer, international ticketing officer, etc. Graduates and postgraduates who take this training can get direct entry to mid-level management and take up job roles as operations manager, billing and settlement officer, travel agency manager, etc. The average salary for these professionals is anywhere between Rs 45,000 to Rs 2,00,000 per month depending on their caliber and the position they take up.
